There was nothing that Afghanistan could be proud of in their innings. Right from the first ball, when Shahzad mishit one to get out, to the last dismissal where Shapoor slogged and missed one, Afghanistan didn't do anything right. The shot selection was absolutely poor but let's not take any credit away from the Bangladeshi bowlers. Shakib started it all with two wickets in two ball and the Afghans couldn't recover since then.
A one sided game to start the T20 Cup. Afghanistan will be left pondering over their batting which effectively cost them this match. The bowlers had very little chance to defend the paltry target of 73, despite all the spin and the bounce on offer. Anamul Haque and Tamim Iqbal started well, they respected the bowling but made sure to take full toll when the bad ones came across. In the end, it was a superb victory for the hosts, their biggest in terms of wickets in T20 contests.
